We are pleased to share exciting news that Marisha MacMorran has accepted the role of Executive Director of Food Connection.
After six years of commitment, passion and a lot of hard work, our Founder and current Executive Director Flori Pate made the decision to step down to spend more time with family. Flori will remain with Food Connection as the Community Engagement Leader where she will continue to stay engaged with our mission and offer her expertise. We are extremely thankful for Flori’s service, and are thrilled that she will remain with us as we continue our journey.
Marisha is no stranger to the Food Connection family. She has been engaged in Food Connection for six years, donating and delivering food, volunteering, and helping plan our annual Chefs In Action fundraisers. For the last year and half she has served as a Food Connection Board Member, Board Secretary and Fundraising Chair. Her passion for feeding those in need and her strategic planning and leadership skills are stellar.
Marisha comes to us from Horizons Defined, a company that she founded, focused on supporting local businesses. She has also served as the Operations Manager and Events Coordinator for Celine and Company in Asheville. Prior to this, she held management and marketing roles in the tourism industry.
Marisha is originally from Pennsylvania and has lived in Asheville for 17 years. She now resides in West Asheville with her partner Scott and their son Ryder.
Please join us in welcoming Marisha to the Food Connection team!
In November of 2020 Marisha organized Food Connection's very first Thanksgiving Day meal distribution where we were able to hand out turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes and green beans to hundreds of our neighbors in need.
Food Connection eases hunger, reduces waste and supports our local food industry by redistributing surplus prepared food and purchasing meals from chefs to serve our neighbors in need.
We are incredibly grateful to ALL of our Food Donor Partners who go the extra mile to pack up their leftovers and call Food Connection. We've started quite the revolution in Asheville and Buncombe County. We're ready to take this show on the road and expand. Please consider going on this journey with us by making a contribution.
